Fortnite Ends Again, on December the 3rd

It’s not that long ago kids were throwing controllers at the TV because of the Fortnite black-hole, when the game went offline at the end of Chapter 1.
Last year, at the end of Chapter 2, we had the island flip upside down with our characters left floating in an ocean until Chapter 3 arrived and now we’ve got all of that to look forward to again after the official Fortnite Twitter account has confirmed the end of Chapter 3.

There’s been some talk for a while now that Chapter 3 would be short, the first chapter spanned 10 seasons, and chapter 2 was 8 seasons, but when rumours first appeared of Chapter 3 being only 4 seasons long, there were equal measures of disbelief and understanding.
For me, it’s hard work to keep engaged in the same map for 2 years, the end of Chapter 1 was long overdue, and I missed out on almost half of Chapter 2 because I was simply bored with it after a year.

But after returning to the island late in Chapter 2, my fiancee and I, have played most days and every week ever since, while 4 chapters might feel short on paper, I’m 100% behind something fresh on a yearly basis.

We’ve had various clues that the current chapter might be coming to an end, with the promise of “The Nothing”, and enough similarities between the end of chapter 2 and recent events, there’s also strong rumours of Midas returning, and with recent survey skins showing various iterations of Slone, there’s a good chance she might return soon, maybe we’ll see the often requested throwbacks season reigniting some old flames.

As for the end of Chapter 3, all we know so far is the name “Fracture” this could mean a number of things, but with chrome increasingly covering the island, we’re taking a guess that’s what fractures, due to the zero-point destabilising and it’s taking the entire island with it, will things be flipped around chapter 2 style, returned to the chapter 1 map, or maybe something completely different, we’ll find more during the live event on Saturday the 3rd December (1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm GMT)
