Cities Skylines: Remastered – Quickly recovers from a rocky launch

Share the love...

UPDATE: 16:50 – 17th February.

The final DLC packs have been fixed and are now available as previously expected.

you may have to head to “My Games & Add-ons” after pressing Start/menu on the game tile, but if you own them, you’ll now find Industries and Synth Dawn Radio have joined the other packs as ready to download if you owned them on the Xbox One version.

There’s a lot of great games coming out in February but one that really caught my eye was Cities Skylines: Remastered, already a fantastic city-builder, the next-gen remaster delivers improvements across the board, which made it easy to review so positively, you can check our full review HERE.

However, it’s not all been plain sailing as a variety of issues have popped up on launch day, mostly down to the crossover for owners of the original Xbox One edition.

If you were up bright and early this morning, you may have seen that not only was Cities Skylines: Remastered was not available for free to existing owners, it also had none of the promised DLC available.

Thankfully Microsoft and the teams responsible seem to have ironed out most of those early bumps, as “Cities Skylines: Remastered” is now free to download for owners of the Xbox One edition (as planned) and is also available through gamepass for subscribers, even if you’ve never touched the original.

The second area of concern was the DLC packs, as initially, none of the often-costly DLC packs were showing as available, again the teams have been hard at work, but there’s still a couple of issues left to sort out.

The following major DLC packs, are now all working and functional.

After dark
Snowfall
Natural Disasters
Mass Transit
Green Cities
Park Life
Campus
Sunset Harbour
Airports.

Avid city builders will notice two packs missing, we already know “Plaza’s and Promenades” will be added in the coming weeks/months, but the pack currently not working is.

Industries

While we own the vast majority of DLC, we haven’t got every individual smaller pack to check so there’s could be other content / radio packs not yet fully integrated to the Remastered version, but one other we are aware of that isn’t working is….

Synthetic Dawn Radio Pack

We’ve reached out to Microsoft, and Paradox Interactive, so if they’re not already aware, I’m sure these remaining issues will be resolved in no time, we’ll update this article when we know more, so keep one eye on the Oldies.
