Car Detailing Simulator Review

I’m not a fan of cleaning my car and I’m not sure how I feel cleaning a car on a game, but here we are again reviewing a new game coming to you on Xbox, so get out your cloth and grab that sponge your in for a treat.

The story of Car Detailing Simulator starts of with a comic book style introduction showing you an awards shindig for the best-looking car and detailing and showing you past award winners, but then your thrown into a little tutorial on how to clean and detail a lovely Austin Martin and I’m sure the owner of the car was a messy bastard.

Cleaning is pretty streaightforward as you grab the case of relevant equipment and switch between a handful of “tools” to perform the task at hand.
Cleaning the outside of the car gives you a foam spray, then you’ll need to switch to the powerwash to clear it off and finally the cloth to wipe away the smears of water.

Once you’ve done the tutorial, you’ll then start being contacted by customers with various requests starting with a straeightforward clean, and moving on through various sections such as cleaning wheels, interiors or polishing, its all good fun.

The more you do the more you can expand your tools and upgrade to a better item, you’ll initially find a handful of sets available and enough funds to purchase everything you’ll need for those first few jobs, but with every job you complete, you’ll acquire more funds to unlock more equipment.

Soon enough you’ll need more cases of tools than you have space to store them, and we wouldn’t want to leave things lying around on the floor, so thankfully there’s also garage upgrades such as new units to store different tool sets on.
Many of these upgrades are locked behind progression, but everything is delivered relatively seemlessly and you’ll see your garage and business grow the more time you spend with Car Detailing Sim

So the controls are very easy to pick up, moving about is easy and cleaning and polishing opening a car door or a boot is simple and crossed over to the controller fairly well.
There’s signs of “PC Port” as some controls feel a tad fiddly, such as more detailed work which no doubt would have been a little less tedious with a mouse, but overall things control well and while I definitely preferred areas such as Powerwashing over the cloth wiping, there’s a decent selection of tool and tasks to stop things feeling repetitive too soon.

the sound is to where it needs to be and not sure what they could of done better if I’m honest, the only niggle would be the generic music that was on repeat and looped.

The longevity of this game will depend on your interest in simulation games as I found myself getting well into soaping up a car with the spray machine and then wiping it clean with my cloth, something about this action was oddly satisfying, it’s definitely not as high quality or rewarding as PowerWash SImulator, but it’s far more straightforward and for me enjoyable than Car Mechanic SImulator.

The graphics of the game are nothing to get hyped about however if I’m honest I wouldn’t expect the cars to look like you’d find in forza, I think it’s on point

I really did enjoy playing Car Detailing Simulator I didn’t think I’d be into the whole dynamic of the game, but I did spend more time on the game than I think I would of done so that’s a positive, like I said earlier the only niggle I had was the repetitive music audio track other that that I’d say it’s a solid simulator game.

You can pick up Car detailing Simulator on the store for £13.24 and is out now, so get out Henry Hoover out and give a car a clean.
