While I’m not the greatest fan of the Game Awards, and the often-suspect nominees and occasionally winners, but the good news is there’s often a decent number of announcements, so you can watch the Game Awards live (if you’re still awake) or catch up tomorrow with the embed below.

Xbox News – (All times in GMT)
2:20am:
So far there’s being noting major announced Xbox side, Playstation users got a glimpse of Death Stranding 2, and Forspoken, but so far (besides a few indie announcements) it’s mostly just been a handful of Gamepass adverts.

2:27am:
As Dusk Falls wins the award for “Games for Impact”

2:30am:
Baldurs Gate 3 World premier.

2:41am:
Artist “Halsey” takes to the stage to perform the track ‘Lillith’ shortly followed by a trailer for Diablo IV.
2:45am:
Release date confirmed, Diablo IV will release 6th June 2023.

2:46am:
A number of awards,
Splatoon 3 (multiplayer) God of War (Audio design) and Zelda (most anticipated)
Followed by a quick trailer for Burning Shores (the latest Horizon Forbidden West udder for Sony to milk).

2:51am:
Best Action game award goes to Bayonetta 3…

2:53am:
Blue Protocol from Namco Bandai (Coming to Xbox Series X-S 2023)

2:56am:
Remnant 2 announced… (looks even more Souls Like)

Innovation and Accessibility award is announced,
Shock horror, God of War Ragnorak wins.. though I’ll need some innovation and accessibility options to figure out how a game (while very good) isn’t very innovative, and pales in comparison for accessibility against far more inclusive games like The Quarry and As Dusk Falls.

The VERY Souls-like styled, “Lords of the Fallen” is showcased. and it looks pretty damn good.

I guess they’re trying to build anticipation for the God of .. ahem, Game of the Year Award.

WOW!!!
God of War didn’t win it,

Elden Ring is Game of the year.
Nothing against God of War (or any of the nominees) but Elden Ring was by far the best game of the bunch, sure it was Dark Souls, but bringing that to the open world, was a big step and From Softward did an amazing job.
