System Shock Remake Takes Another Step

Share the love...

It may have been last summer when we first heard the fantastic System Shock was getting a remake, and it’s been a little quiet in void of space, but a demo has just been released over on Steam showing that the nostalgic return to the citadel station is getting closer.

We’re still waiting on more release details, but let’s hope it’s not too long before we see System Shock back on our screens.

A brand new PC demo for System Shock – the fully fledged remake of the ground breaking original from 1994 – has gone live as part Steam Next Fest which runs from 6 – 13 Feb.

Combining cult gameplay with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface and all-new sounds & music (it even has the original voice actor of SHODAN) the demo will allow players to experience the whole of the opening level – with no restrictions – as you face SHODAN and her terrifying minions.

Players will need to use a combination of stealth, cunning and futuristic weaponry to make their way through Citadel Station’s all-new areas, traps, puzzles and secrets to reach SHODAN.

Facing them is an army of hostile and mutated creatures – created and controlled by SHODAN herself – players will need to either fight or avoid to survive.

System Shock is available to pre-order for PC via Steam, GOG and the Epic Game Store. The title will also be releasing on PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series S|X.
