Evil Wizard Review.

Well, it’s the weekend again, and another fun filled indi game has arrived on my lap.

Evil Wizard is a humor-filled action RPG featuring metroidvania elements and carefully crafted pixel-art environments.

As a defeated villain who barely survived a tough fight, you’ll have to face an army of so-called heroes to recover what’s rightfully yours. Rediscover your powers, infiltrate your own castle, unleash devastating spells, and purge your ancestral home of these miserable excuses for an enemy. Are you ready to get your hands dirty? It’s time to be the bad guy for a change!

I havent played a RPG game in some time, nor have I reviewed one recently but i’ve got to say this one is lots of fun to play bearing that in mind you have to think about your surroundings and what I mean by that, I attually got stuck on the first part of the game trying to figure out what I had to do, it took me ages to get accross that bridge. Yeah, I no. I needed to learn a spell and set a rope on fire to get into the castle.

The game itself is really easy to play, and the controls are not hard to use at all. Graphically, the game isn’t that pleasing, but I truly think the pixelated design was what Rubber Duck Games were going for.

The main objective is to work your way through hordes of enemies while avoiding traps and problem solving various puzzles while trying to reclaim the halls of your castle from the mobs that have moved in.

The combat system is very easy to use and interact with while you make your way through the in-game worlds and un lock your paths. You will learn to master and harness the power of fire, ice, void, lightning, and earth. mixing these all together to deal some variatons of attacks.

The longevity of the game will last you a few days or a possibly a few hours, depending on how much of a gamer you are. But for the price, it’s a worthy indi game that is worth any gamers’ attention.

Looking at the game itself, it’s really well put together. You need to work out the way everything works. I love how you need to switch between skills by using the environment. Need to use fire, no worries, there are plenty of torches around, wanna switch to lightning, and catch a charge of the circuit box that are dotted around the place. The whole game is one giant puzzle and very limited information as you’re never really given a direction to head towards, but I really do love it.

The bosses on the game are loads of fun aswell you’ll need to figure out how you attack them, you cant always go in head, first swinging your sword and hopping for the best. You’ll start to lose your health quickly and end up dying. You can harvest health from the mobs you hit by using the right bumber button just before they die. You suck in their health, which is a massive life saver. Excuse the pun.

The music and sound effects are not really anything to scream about, but to be fair, I dont really think it matters too much, this littlle indi game is right on the money. Oh, and before I forget, keep an eye out for all the Rubber Ducks around the game they made me laff when you open them up.

So would I recommend this game, as you can problerly tell I’d 100% recommend this game to the Oldies of this world, Evil Wizard is a wicked and funny exciting game, and I believe you all should give it a whirl.
